The Banyan Place community is set amongst more than 7 hectares of natural landscape, with extensive areas reserved for conservation spaces. With the conservation of native plants, birds and animals key to the vision of our community, Banyan Place fosters a healthy community within a flourishing natural environment.
With this in mind, we are excited that our region is set to benefit from the Suburban Parks Program. A state government initiative worth $315 million, the Suburban Parks Program invests in park planning and infrastructure to ensure current and future generations enjoy open green spaces within their community. This funding is set to benefit existing local parklands including the Cardinia Creek Parklands (located approximately a 10 minute drive west from the Banyan Place community), and the creation of new open spaces with Officer District Park.
Located off Lansell Avenue in Officer, construction on the Officer District Park will deliver a regional-level skate and BMX facility, walking tracks, a downhill mountain board track, parkour and more. The precinct will also include a cafe, wetlands, a boardwalk and a nature play and lookout area, where you can take in the very best views of Officer.
The existing Cardinia Creek Parkland will benefit from an expansion by linking existing parks and reserves in the area. The expansion will create more than 600 hectares of parkland set to be established on either side of Cardinia Creek and stretch from Beaconsfield to Clyde warranting the park “regional” status.
