A new regional athletics facility is being built at IYU Recreation Reserve in Pakenham!
IYU Reserve in Pakenham is located a short 6 minute drive from the Banyan Place community in Officer, making this is a HUGE win for the local community.
The new regional athletics facility, built and funded by Cardinia Shire, will feature a 400-metre athletics track with a 10-lane straight, long and triple jump facilities as well as pole vault, high jump, javelin, shot put, hammer/discus and steeplechase.
Construction of the new track and outdoor infrastructure has begun and planning for a future pavilion is underway. It is anticipated the new facilities will open in early 2023.
This new facility is another fantastic example of the amenity rich neighbourhood in which the Banyan Place community lies, being only a stone’s throw to a wealth of established amenities.
